I'm an old guy from a world before superstores, malls and out of town retail parks. In my town there are a number of small traders, especially food shops like fishmongers and craft butchers who are struggling to cope with the effects of inner city hollowing out, High Street collapse and the difficulties of promoting their wares, which often vary from day to day. The customer group is there, it's just a matter of marrying up the two.
Whilst big agencies like Borough Market can afford to maintain websites and an aggressive Facebook feed, small firms don't have the time.
I envisage some kind of mobile app, perhaps based on augmented reality and open source GIS software, which would facilitate customer access to what is available on a day-to-day basis, and a simple way for non-techically sophisticated shopkeepers to promote their goods.
