Done well, I think this will help to obsolete many of the top down approaches we've had to labor towards/under for so long.
It can let each person better represent his or her own interests directly, voting with dollars, engagement, etc more easily - and also gain better ideas of systemic interactions/considerations, etc. It can help better marry self and community interests. In approaches to everything from city design/implementation to every day use, it can improve dynamism and many minds based innovation.
We already have some great tools to start on this, but need better - options that don't take away from people's lives to add to them, etc. Going forward, this is a big challenge that we will need to overcome to meet the promise of this area.
