Modelling cities as information systems will provide city planners, analyzers, managers and researchers with a huge amount of correctly structured data, thus making it possible to build iinformation and knowledge about how do cities work and how do citizens and visitors live and perceive them, in a similar process to that which drove other reasearch areas (i.e. bio-technologies) to dramatically accelerate their development.

Analyzing cities as physical objects and/or phenomena is a slow and hard job. Analyzing them as information systems is a feasible, fast and powerful means to achieve more and more reliable results.
