Use of VR to minimize need for commuting for certain jobs
Feb 20, 2014 Zack V

I'm planning on using this idea for my first project for this class so please do not use it as well! Feel free to comment on it though as I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Virtual Reality (VR) has opened new avenues of research and new application possibilities. The technology is available here and now to make a lot of daily processes available in cyberspace. Business processes, in particular, could easily migrate in a VR setting, making tete-a-tete meetings unnecessary in many cases. This is especially useful in cases where you have to travel to another city to meet your collaborators. If we can have a virtual space where every one of the participants of this meeting can listen to what others say, make a statement for others to consider, ask a question, share a document from his/her computer, create a sketch to illustrate an idea, and make a presentation, then the meeting can take place without the need for everyone to be present at a certain location, reducing all costs.
