As young cities are popping up all over the world, the need for efficient mass transportation is becoming an even larger priority. Subways are expensive and dirty, trams take up valuable ground space, and cars pollute the air. As an urban planner, I would institute a new type of transportation. It would operate like an enclosed ski lift, and carry 5 or 6 passengers across a city in a sort of bubble. I would also utilize magnetic levitation technology to eliminate friction and increase speed. This could open up even more doors, like intercity travel. Thousands of cars could be installed in a city, and therefore waiting time would be cut down dramatically. The enclosed bubble would make the lift comfortable and safe. Overall, we should look to the sky to find the future of urban transportation.
