What trends in urban technology are you most interested?
Bike- and Car-Sharing

Public transportation seems to have always been important to very urban areas, and I'm interested to know more about how things like Citibike and ZipCar have been functioning in major cities like New York. Taxis, buses, and trains are mainstays in densely-populated places, and they generally are reliable modes of transportation. However, in my personal experience, smaller towns with less of the population having total reliance on these forms of transportation seem to have systems that are less reliable, wide-reaching, and well-funded.

If these sorts of programs (bike-sharing and car-sharing) work well in big cities, could they also work well in smaller cities like Palo Alto, CA, or in large suburban areas like Chicagoland, IL?
