Self sustaining buildings making water from atmosphere?

Self sustaining building technology is a hot topic so I was thinking, is it possible to design buildings that would help absorb water from the atmosphere for instance from smog or cities with foggy weather. A lot many people across the globe blame tall buildings as a contributer to smogs so if building absorb water then won't it help clean the atmosphere.

Your thoughts.

update1: While researching, I found out that a many stones can absorb water, such as limestone, flagstone and sandstone. Although not a perfect material for building construction they do have the ability to absorb water.
