Smart cities can mean reduced visual pollution

It may seem counter intiuitive, but my reasoning is this:
1. there is an estimate that 12% of the population has difficulties with their site (and as the population ages, this will probably increase).
2. the estimates for people on the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) vary between 8%-16% of the population. These folks often have trouble interpreting very dense information streams.
3. there are a huge number of visual queues in city streets. They mix safety, marketing, information, retailing etc.

The density of information is confusing and increasingly ineffective. With smartphones, RFID and a smart city infrastructure, it should be possible to reduce this visual pollution, and make it more effective.

Sadly, however, commercial interests make this extremely unlikely...
