What is your big idea for a smarter city?
City with nomad inhabitants

City with nomad inhabitants
Neighborhood: Manhattan - Midtown West

That probably sounds like theme for another Tolkien movie, but my idea if very practical and is already a reality for few today.

I would love to promote less ownership-based and more exploratory approach to living in our own cities. Where as opposed to buying and renting, more people make use of modern day flexibility offered by technology and discover our cities and communities by frequent moves and shorter term stays in hotels/hostels/airbnb in places which suit our personal seasons/moods/spirits.

Such lifestyle is often associated with luxury or unnecessary minimalism, but evolution of hospitality industry and spread of shared economy could unlock more benefits of this lifestyle to more people. And apart from allowing us to have more diverse and romantic relations with our own cities, this also can bring some economies of scale in our personal lives, by focusing more daily activities in community places.

If you're like minded - I want to hear from you.
