Participatory approach to improve walkability

The walkability of a city is -in my eyes- key to any city’s success. Particularly because walkability is one of the basic needs for citizens. Cities that score low on walkability consist of islands, isolated and non connected. Wheelchair users, seniors, blind, deaf and other less abled people are most impacted. So instead of waiting for accidents to happen or for urban planners and officials to find out about the pedestrian unfriendly locations in cities, let's go for a participatory approach using technology to improve the walkability in cities.
