My eco friendly pet bed & accessories co, For My BFF, has the perfect building to house it in, now empty. To work/live on the 3rd floor we need to install an energy efficient flexible HVAC unit (currently has none) & e.e. lighting w/budget of $25,000. We will install a node for wi-fi on the roof holding a sensor (to collect weather data) w/ a small solar panel to power it, making the building the first of a Civilian Disaster Response Resource network in St. Louis City & establishing ad hoc communications to function 24/7 in the event of a worst case scenario. We need $10k for 20 nodes & solar panels installed across STL city to create the network. Part of creating tomorrow's Smart City is also creating a resilient city which demands Sieman's plan for micro-grids (see images). My project includes a 5 year plan so this bldg can function off grid w/a large dry basement for shelter. We will create a how to ebook for free download to donors as a guide to a Smart Resilient Citizenry City.
