How would you use RFID's to improve your city?
RFIDs in public spaces

I think that RFID technology could be used to enhance citizen's experience of public space. RFID chips could be embedded in public places such as parks, schools, libraries, and government buildings. If smartphones can read RFID tags (can they do this? The lecture implied they can, but I'm not sure how that works), people could scan them when they're at that location and learn about its history, function, or other useful or interesting information. For example, a person standing outside a government building could scan the RFID tag and learn what services are available in that building, when it is open, and what phone numbers to call. It could even include an email address so people could make appointments then and there with their smartphones.
