Have you ever participated in developing an app? If so, what was your experience like?
Have developed 3, still going

I developed an app called STARPOP (iOS/Android) for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, using augmented reality to provide a "virtual" celebrity run-in on the street, allowing tourists to take photos with their favorite celebrities on that celeb's star. Also developed a private patient dashboard app called HOSPITABLE (iOS) for a GE competition. And an augmented reality app for newspapers called THE DAILY VIEW (Android) to change the text of the newspaper ads and articles, to provide a different reader experience. I'm now in the process of developing an app called THINLINES that helps people avoid unnecessary driving around town while shopping, and shows people the carbon output from their shopping behaviors.

With both STARPOP and THINLINES, I have to spend a considerable amount of time considering how people will use the app, how they will interact with their city environment while using it, how to make the controls intuitive, how to educate users on the best use situations, etc
