Columbus Traffic Signal System
Mar 31, 2015 Mary T43

Though this system is not yet completed in the city of Columbus, it will hugely improve traffic issues in the city hopefully. Currently being constructed and over the next five years, there will be an additional 160 miles of fiber built from the nodes into the arterial roadways to facilitate the implementation of the traffic signaling devices and traffic cameras, resulting in more than 1,000 signalized intersections.Upon completion, the system is anticipated to improve traffic flow, help improve air quality, and help with traffic planning for large-scale events in the city.
