The obvious answer here would be Smartphone applications. Having access to information pertaining to my city on my phone makes getting around the city easier, as well as finding things such as parking spots, bicycle routes, bars, restaurants, etc. Also, apps such as Uber make exploring cities easier for people. Using Uber and similar services allow for people to enjoy nights out in their city without having to worry about driving, finding parking, etc.

Social media and other websites have allowed me to discover things in my city that I never knew existed. I could have potentially discovered these places on my own, but having a blog post about new restaurants come up on my Twitter feed allowed me to find one of my new favorite restaurants.

Finally, "Minutes To" signs on highways allows for me to adjust routes on the fly. Knowing the route with the fastest travel time allows me to get to my destination as quickly as possible, with the opportunity to get out and enjoy the city.
