I think we are still at the early stages of involving technology in the urban life. Of course GIS technology and location-based services that have become prevalent with the proliferation of smartphone devices have change the way we navigate in the city. We can now decide where to go on the spot and know before hand what to expect when we go to a place through reading the experience of other city dwellers. Of course, this might eliminate the element of serendipity in the city but I believe we are still far from that point.
Of course more things can be done to improve the interaction with the city and mainly with the operations of the city government. I am optimistic that in the end only the useful technology will remain ...
