Do you think computer games are useful for educational purposes?

Another advantage that I think games provide is the element of competition. I know this isn't the most motivating concept for everyone, but I know I personally am pretty competitive, especially when it comes to games. I like to win. So if you can make a game educational it can inspire people to learn more in the hopes of beating other people. Even in solo games where you aren't necessarily competing against anyone. Having clearly defined goals and benchmarks to achieve it can equally motivate people to learn.
