If I had to guess, I would say there is at least one person in every City Planning graduate program that was inspired by The Sims computer game series. Being able to think about city design and layout at an early age can give youth an understanding of urban form, zoning, etc. without them even realizing it. Then, as they get older, they realize there are people who do "Sims-like" activity for a living and want to become planners.
