For decades there's been discussion of covert operations to read all emails such as the FBI's carnivore program, and more recently the NSA server facility in southern Utah. These systems are said to access private data without consent, in this instance the photos are being offered openly, automated crawlers picking up photos on the subject could do some good, not so much in gathering actual evidence but gathering information and imaging that can lead to finding actual evidence and witnesses. In terms of imaging and video a certain number with varied angles is required to create a 3d spacial view, also the images must be sorted by time. With the proper tools a 3d movie like Google earth could be made from before an event to and after an event could be made, this is only possible with many individual remote cameras.
