On April 15, 2013 there was a tragic bombing at the Boston Marathon. Almost instantly pictures and videos of "suspects" started to appear on the web. Was this a good thing? Do you have concerns?
I am always concerned about the combo 'authority-technology'.

Double checking the info in these times is becoming less and less 'cool'. I am suspicious of speed over truth that dominates the field of social media and ESPECIALLY the field of journalism.

Deepening in the matter:

Have they got the right suspects? If so, the sooner the better.
or maybe
Have they hasted the process to keep people in a safe and comfort feeling?

I believe the right question here is whether we are comfortable with the people that are in charge. If we trust in the honesty of intentions of the people in charge then it is given that we trust their actions.

Technology has nothing to do with it.
